Investing in San Diego
Never go on a trip and not consider the possibility of making your favourite destination an investment instead of an expense. Some people may think this is too much to carry on a vacation but the fact is, not thinking this way will ensure that you will end up dreaming about vacations more than going on them.
Take for instance getting San Diego beach rentals which can cost around US$2,500 for a 3 night stay during the peak summer months. The place is gorgeous, its views stunning, and everything for the kids to the grannies is within easy reach. But it is absolute craziness to spend that kind of money if you're living off of an average wage. So what should you do?

Although most units are selling for more than US$1M, there are some in the sub $1M range which if you convert into a managed property, can be well worth it.
In all this, keep this caveat in mind. The best price does not always mean the best investment. So do your homework, enjoy, and have a vacation place that brings in income as well.
Crusing the World
We tend to think of getting on a cruise ship as being imprisoned on an island but with lots of perks. But some people simply love the water and can stay on the lengthiest cruises in what really seems like an inordinate amount of time. In fact, after a quick survey among friends and relatives, we found that over 70% would love to or have gone on a cruise in some form or another. Surprisingly, quite a number went on cruises as part of a company bonding retreat thing and ended up discovering the joys of being out on the open sea while having all the creature comforts of home.
