Waste not, Want not
We went to visit a Singapore company the other day and our nostrils were assaulted in ways never before. IUT Global turns food waste into fertile compost and captures methane, converting it into biodiesel fuel to run everything in the factory and more. The stench was hard to take, but the work is absolutely commendable.
It's not a new thing. Companies such as http://www.nviro.com have been turning bio-organic wastes into biomineral agricultural and soil-enrichment products with real market value since 1993.
Rather than sending the waste into incinerators, the biosolids are converted into clean and valuable organic matter that can be used to supplement and even replace commercial fertilizers.
Zhang Gong’s Works of Art
At Project 798, Zhang Gong is making waves with cartoons in famous works of art such as Da Vinci's "The Last Supper" and Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks".
798 Art Zone (Chinese: 798艺术区; pinyin: 798 Yìshùqū), or Dashanzi Art District, is a part of Dashanzi in the Chaoyang District of Beijing that houses a thriving artist community. Aside from the great art on the walls (graffiti), the 50-year old decommissioned military buildings formerly used to build ammunition and weapons has a unique architectural style and high ceilings that artists love. It is often compared with New York's Greenwich Village or SoHo. There are always rumors that it is going to be torn down but I've been going there since 2005 and the only evidence points towards the governments support of the area with constant renovations of old buildings.

Where in the World is Hancock?
I haven't seen the movie but I did see Will Smith on Ellen talking about the movie, does that count? It seems like the premise is exactly the same as that of The Incredibles so I'm not sure if I want to watch this, especially after the low budget (one actor) movie that Smith was in the last time. Is the movie out where you're at? What do you think? Thumbs up or down?

UPDATE: Saw it, it sucks!
